        When I Am Craving Cakes

        May 6, 2017

I am avoiding cafes these days. Haha the main reason is to save some money and obviously the next one is sometimes I can't help myself with the temptation of sweet stuffs they have!

And one day, Fatin tagged me with the Blue Sky Tag in which all questions are almost answered but still the post is kept as draft. You know what, Fatin... the very first question turned me into a baker the last few days. Haha. It results into this....

        A Red Velvet Cake!
Ignore the messiness, I am an amateur anyway.  :D

In previous post, I think I shared that one of my great achievements is when I can cook or bake something for the very first time and it turns out to be good.

Yes, this red velvet cake is the latest example. :p

Anyway, I would love to recommend my friend who is definitely talented in baking and she has created lots of beautiful cakes. And ehemmm, actually the recipe for this red velvet cake is from her as well.

Well, can you imagine, for someone like me who is honestly not that good with cooking and baking can make a delicious cake like this... of course, the real owner of the recipe can make it more marvelous!

A post shared by @liekohirahata on
I always have a bias to white chocolate ^__^

If you would like to order cakes made by her, you can contact her Instagram shop... maybe for any events or occasions or just simply enjoy the cake together with friends and family members.

Here are few details for general ideas:

        1. How to make orders?
You can just DM her on Instagram. It is better if you can order 2 weeks earlier as she's working as well.

        2. What kind of cakes does she bake?
Any cakes upon request - it can be chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, carrot cake etc. Just, she does not do fondant. :)

        3. How much is the cake?
Basically the whole cake is approximately RM70-80, depends on types of cakes and fillings.

        4. Which areas in Malaysia does she cover?
Well, mostly around KL, Bangi, Shah Alam etc.

        5. Do we need to self pick-up or any delivery included?
Either. She can deliver to you but depends on the time and usually the delivery charge is already included in the price.

For any further details, you can ask her directly on her Instagram :)

        She's awesome, honestly!

From the recipe that she shared with me, I can feel the rich filling and she will definitely use the best ingredients for the orders. :)

        Have a nice weekend everyone!

Baked Fish Fillets - SUPER DUPER EASY!

        October 4, 2016

        I am a seafood lover :)

However, as you may know, Czech is a land-lock country. Don't ever expect any cheap seafood - neither raw nor cooked.

A kilogram of frozen pack of medium-sized prawns can simply costs you around 400kc = RM 60+

Fresh fishes are hard to get unless you live in countrysides where there are lakes / pool full of them. Even, you need a license to go fishing. Haha. Oh, you can get kinda 'fresh' carp during Christmas season as carps are traditional food for Czech people on Christmas Eve.

        Baked Fish Fillets
        Baked Fish Fillets
I baked this for lunch. My left hand has not recovered yet, I just don't feel good to use it on heavy duty. Nak study pun kebas, apatah lagi potong bawang tumis bla bla bla. Malas jugak sebenarnya. So, the alternative is put everything into the oven. Jadilah makanan niii :D

        It is very easy. Really.

        1. Cut the defrost fish fillets into medium pieces.
        2. Sprinkle the fillets and vegetables with paprika and black pepper.
        3. Leave for 5 minutes.
        4. Put the vegetables into the baking tray, then put fish fillets on top of them.
        5. Squeeze half a lemon onto them.
        6. Leave in to cook in the oven with temperature 150 degree Celsius for 30 minutes.

While waiting, you can just proceed with whatever task you are doing.

See, senang pun senang. Sedap pun sedap. Untuk tekak saya lah :)

Oh yea, brokoli tu rasa macam chips :D Boleh la try kalau nak control diri taknak makan chips.

        Resepi Mango Lassi

        July 20, 2015

Korang nak something berbeza untuk diminum?

Taraaaa, Boleh try buat sendiri minuman ni, mango lassi :)

Pertama kali saya minum mango lassi ni kat The Royal Maharaja, Indian restaurant di Hradec Kralove. Kedai ni yang bestnya sebab dia boleh supply daging halal if requested. Well, nak makan kat restaurant yang jual menu ada daging halal tak lah mudah sangat, selain kebab. :)

Cumanya, harga agak mahal, biasanya saya sendiri order menu paling murah ataupun memang jarang sangat pergi sini.

        resepi mango lassi

Sepanjang kat Czech, memang tak terfikir pun nak buat sendiri. Mungkin jugak takut nak blend ais. Haha, banyak betul alasan.

Kat rumah di Perak ni, semua tu bukan masalah :D except yogurt, fobia lepas insiden Balkan Trip lepas. Tapi alhamdulillah, I can go along with this yogurt. Sedap bila diblend jadi mango lassi ni. Perut pun boleh terima.

        resepi mango lassi

Actually, ni boleh katakan rough recipe je ye. Boleh try ikut sukatan masing2, citarasa lain-lain kan. Nak masam lebih, banyakkan mangga. Nak cair, lebihkan yogurt atau tambah air. Nak manis, banyakkan gula :)

        Resepi Mango Lassi.
        (untuk 4 gelas)
        - Ais (dalam 2 mangkuk sup kecil tu)
        - Mangga (2-3 biji saiz kecil)
        - Yogurt mango flavor (350ml)
        - Gula / susu pekat manis (dalam 2 sudu makan)
        - Air (kalau nak cair)

Tengah musim mangga kan sekarang? Boleh la try untuk minum2 sekeluarga. :D

        Selamat mencuba!

        Dan selamat hari raya semua.

        Laksam in Czech :)

        January 6, 2015

Living far away from my home country make me realized how grateful I should be. Missing the family that I used to see at least once a month, missing the seas and beaches a lot (there are NONE of these in Czech T_T). And of course missing the food. Traditional food. Malay food.

Well, so far, I can't see any Malaysian restaurants here (which I guess a lot maybe in UK - I haven't been there ;p). So, every time I'm craving for something that can fill my Malaysian's delicious taste of bud, it is either I will ask someone to make it for me (yeah, I know - muka tak malu, but I'm don't really ask a lot T_T) or I need to do it myself. Sedap tak sedap, belakang kira. What to do, I'm not a good cook.

        My second attempt of Laksam.
        Here we go!

My biggest challenge was to make the laksam itself T_T. Out of 10 trays, only 5 are properly done & cooked. Ouch, I wasted lots of my rice flour :(

But, no worries, I learnt the trick!

So, let me share with you how I make my laksam. Simple laksam. Maybe more suitable for students like me :) Servings for 4 people.

        ***********************************
To make the laksam, I use;-

        i) 3 cups of rice flour
        - (I used IKEA plastic cup. It doesn't matter what types of cup you use, just make sure you use the same one for the water)
ii) 2 tablespoon of wheat flour (the normal one ;))
iii) 4 cups of warm water

        How to make it?

        1. Prepare your steamer (pengukus) & heat it.
        2. In a bowl, put both rice flour and wheat flour together with warm water.
        3. Make sure to stir them so that they mix well.
        4. Put a small baking tray into the steamer. *you can use anything actually; like a pot cover, a plate*
        5. Spread very very very little amount of oil onto the tray. (you can use pandan leaves :D)
        6. Pour the laksam mixture into layer (not too thick or too thin)
        7. Wait for it to be cooked - about 2-3 minutes
        8. Remove the baking tray from the steamer, place it onto a plate. BE CAREFUL, it is really hot.
        9. By using spoon and your fingers, fold the laksam. I think it is okay to fold it while it is still hot.

        ------------------------------------------------------------------------

        Meanwhile,
        For the laksam's gravy - I use;-

        i) 4 boxes of Sardine (total about 500g) - I just take the fish without the tomato sauce :)
        ii) 500ml coconut milk (santan)
        iii) 1 inch of ginger
iv) 3 onions (I only have Holland onions here)
        v) 4 garlic
vi) 1 small spoon of black pepper powder
        vii) A few asam keping
viii) Sugar and salt to taste

        How to cook the gravy?
        1. Blend the sardine, onions, garlic, ginger, santan and black pepper powder.
        2. Pour the mixture into a pot, then put some asam keping.
        3. Add sugar and salt (depend on people's taste)
        4. If the gravy is quite thick, put some water. But if you like thick gravy, just leave it :)
        5. Leave it to cook.

        Finally, serve it and eat!

I added some salads, cucumber, bunga kantan and sambal to put more taste to it :)

        p/s - reference . thank you! :)
p/s/s - I feel awkward to take pictures while cooking. But still, I need to record this for my future reference :)

        Till then,
        Assalamualaikum.

        kek oreo

        May 22, 2013

Gambar ni dah pernah share kat FB.
Nak share lagi sekali, dengan resepinya :)
        Jom try!

Google je resepi ni, terus jumpa satu blog, simple jugak rupanya buat kek oreo ni. Haha, bagi orang yang amatur baking macam saya ni, bila jumpa satu resepi tu nampak senang, silalah teruskan untuk membuatnya, jangan tangguh-tangguh.

Apa-apapun, saya taklah ikut bulat-bulat resepi tu, banyak je alter. :)

        KEK OREO

        250 gm butter
1 cwn gula (aku guna 3/4 cawan, okay je)
2 cwn tepung naik sendiri (errr aku guna tepung gandum biasa tu)
1 sudu kecil baking powder - tepung dan baking powder diayak
        4 biji telur
        1 sudu kecil esen vanilla
8-10 keping oreo - kisar halus (aku pun kisar sekali dgn krimnya)

        Caranya:-

So, saya pukul je lagi sampai nampak menarik tekstur dia di mata sayaa.
        2. Campurkan oreo dan gaul rata. Takyah guna mixer pun.
        3. Bahagi adunan kepada 2. Bakar berasingan. (Resepi asal, boleh dapat sampai 3 layers) :p

        SIAP KEK!

        .................................................................

        DEKORASI KEK -_-'

        ?leha?ka (whipped cream)
        Cream cheese
        Icing sugar
        Oreo (kisar, dengan krim sekali)

        Caranya:-

        1. Whipped cream (dalam 200g), 2 sudu cream cheese, 3 sudu icing sugar - pukul dengan mixer sampai betul-betul kembang. Kawan saya cakap, sampai kalau terbalikkan bekas, cream tu tak mengalir or terbalik sekali.
        2. Permukaan setiap kek hendaklah diratakan. (Tak ratakan punnnn T_T Tak reti nak potong straight dua-dua permukaan tu, aduh)
Lepas tu, taburkan serbuk orea sampai tak nampak permukaan warna putih :D
        4. Lapiskan dengan kek yang kedua.
        5. Ratakan cream kat dinding & permukaan atas kek. Okay, bahagian atas tu, deco la macam mana yang korang nak. Saya ni takde skill sangat, so, saya tabur je oreo jadi bentuk hati.

Survival skills! Hoyeah.

Jazakillah khairan katheera untuk warga Ad-Deen yang selalu share experiences, thanks Google for all recipes.

        Bahan-bahan ( 3 orang )
        1 cawan tepung gandum
        3/4 cawan gula halus
1 1/2 sudu kecil soda bikarbonat
        1/3 cawan mentega
        1 cawan susu segar
        1 tin buah Peach
1 sudu kecil serbuk kayu manis (cinnamon)
        3 sudu besar gula
        Cara-cara

Siap google apa sebenarnya rasa peach cobbler. :D Ada yang kata peach cobbler ni macam puding roti butter. Haha maknanya yang buat ni tak jadi peach cobbler nampaknya :p

Tapi alhamdulillah, okay aje rasanya (macam bengkang heee).

        I realised I don't like cinnamon!

        p/s - Bestnya bakinggggg!!

        Okayy,
        Assalamualaikum <3
